POP Family hires Ambience exec Mascord as development and production chief


Australian kids and family-focused producer and financer POP Family Entertainment has appointed Kylie Mascord as head of development and production.


Mascord has extensive experience in television and theatre production and development and most recently worked at Ambience Entertainment, overseeing its slate of live-action film and TV projects.


Her credits include producer and story producer on children's comedy series Drop Dead Weird, associate producer on 2021 feature film Interceptor, and the 2019 retelling of Storm Boy, line producer on Steve Jaggi's 2020 film Sit, Stay, Love, and Netflix series Dive Club.


Most recently, she was line producer on the NITV/ACTF children's series Barrumbi Kids, based on the children's book by Leonie Norrington.


POP Family CEO Carmel Travers said: A seasoned producer, Kylie brings many years' experience across a range of industry sectors from talent representation through to script development and production.


Mascord said: "Throughout my career I have been drawn to inclusive and engaging storytelling that speaks to everyone. I am so excited to be continuing that journey with Carmel and the incredibly talented team at POP Family Entertainment.”
